The Los Angeles Lakers and New Orleans Pelicans are among the eight teams that will compete in the Western Conference play-in game. The Lakers finished the regular season with a 40-42 record, while the Pelicans finished with a 36-46 record.
The other teams in the play-in game are the Sacramento Kings, Portland Trail Blazers, Minnesota Timberwolves, San Antonio Spurs, Oklahoma City Thunder, and Utah Jazz.
The play-in game will be held from April 11-15. The No. 7 and No. 8 seeds will face off in a single-elimination game on April 11. The winner of that game will advance to face the No. 9 seed in a single-elimination game on April 13. The winner of that game will advance to face the No. 10 seed in a single-elimination game on April 15.
The winner of the play-in game will advance to the playoffs as the No. 8 seed.
