2024 NBA Finals: Celtics Take Game 1, Mavs Look to Even Series

Celtics Dominate Game 1

The Boston Celtics opened the 2024 NBA Finals with a decisive 107-89 victory over the Dallas Mavericks in Game 1 at TD Garden. The Celtics controlled the game from the start, leading by as many as 25 points in the first half. Mavs Struggle to Keep Pace

The Mavericks were unable to keep up with the Celtics' high-powered offense. Luka Dončić struggled against Boston's physical defense, finishing with only 24 points on 9-of-23 shooting. The Mavericks also shot just 40% from the field as a team.

In a touching tribute, the Celtics honored legendary broadcaster Bill Walton with a pregame ceremony. Walton, who has been battling cancer, received a standing ovation from the crowd.
